Victoria & Keelan at Château de Monciaux

Some weddings are not defined by the number of guests, but by the people who are present.

After more than ten years together and already building a family of their own, Keelan and Victoria travelled from Canada to the French countryside to celebrate their marriage surrounded by only their closest relatives.

Their destination wedding took place at Château de Monciaux, a peaceful estate nestled in the rolling landscapes of Dordogne, in the heart of the Périgord. Originally planned elsewhere, the celebration had to be moved at the last minute following unexpected flooding at their first venue. Fortunately, finding beautiful wedding venues is never difficult in this part of France.

With only fifteen guests, the atmosphere felt deeply personal. The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s mother, making every word even more meaningful. Children played nearby, family members shared stories, and every moment reflected the life they had already built together.

Like many couples travelling from abroad for a destination wedding in France, they chose experiences over extravagance. Their journey included discovering French cuisine, Bordeaux wines and the beauty of southwestern France before gathering for a celebration that felt simple, elegant and genuine.

A reminder that the most memorable weddings are often the most intimate.
